A first-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles, Grich played seven seasons with the O's before switching to the then-California Angels in 1977. It was while playing in Southern California where Grich unloaded 154 of his 224 career home runs. His career culminated with one of the most-talked-about ALCS battles in history, where the Boston Red Sox battled back from a 3-1 series deficit to win the best-of-seven-game series.
